A little bit further behind
I remember once, seeing a Calvin and Hobbs cartoon. Calvin was surrounded by piles of stuff and things to do lists, and the caption read “We were put on this Earth to do a certain number of things and right now I am so far behind I will never catch up!” (or something close to that) That is how I feel right now.
Everyday is at least 1 load of laundry, and I still have to catch up on the weekends with the sheets and towels and other stuff. Then there are the dishes that never end, and the home cooking every night of course makes more dishes. The floors in this house I love and hate at the same time. I love the hard wood cause they are easier to clean and less allergy issues. But at the same time I hate them because you notice the dirt faster when you walk around the house barefoot. School is just piling more onto my plate, with at least one test or major writing project every week now. Not to mention the reading necessary to keep up for class discussion.
I have also taken the steps to be a parent volunteer at Ashley’s school. I have seen, heard and read some read horror stories of kids in some of the area schools, and I refuse to let Ashley be left behind. Now nothing but good news coming from her school, and grades are awesome, but I know that things can change quickly if you are not watching. I am also volunteering so I can get some time in classrooms, so that when I am ready to begin substitute teaching I will already know some students and teachers and administrators. So with all this going on all at once, of course I had to go and get sick on top of it all.
Oh well, a mother’s job is never done. The i-robot (the best thing for this house) is working on the floors, and the laundry is washing and clothes are waiting to be ironed and history is waiting to be memorized, so I gotta go.
