It’s a sad day in Savannah
Last night the Teamsters union won by a majority of the vote. From my understanding at the celebration after the announcement one driver was quoted as saying to the contract manager “I don’t have to listen to you anymore.” That is what the union organizers have let these drivers believe, several people no called no showed yesterday because the union told them they could and have no consequences. Now because of the union winning yesterday I will no longer be allowed to remain a part time driver. Once the union ratifies the contract everything will need to be black and white, and my part-time employment is in a grey area. First Student claims that I am the only driver in First Student being allowed to drive a.m. only, which I know for a fact i not a correct statement. Hopefully we will be able to find me a route that works for me both a.m. and p.m. at least until Christmas. I can worry about what to do once I start school.
