“Wet Run”

I knew that today was supposed to be our “wet run” or timed practice of our routes, but who knew it would be really this wet… It started raining at 5 this morning, and has rained all day. I ran through my whole route, everything went well. As a matter of fact I finally found some missing stops that I couldn’t find on map-quest. It was great, after I drove the whole route I drove into base to talk to my supervisor about my pay for the week. I asked the payroll lady how we were being paid for the week and she said talk to my supervisor. I went to talk to my supervisor and she was surprised to hear that I am only driving this route in the A.M. She also told me that she was not going to go through the dispatch log to see how many hours I had this week, so I should double check my payroll printout next week. I went back to the payroll lady to ask what day she would have the printouts ready next week. She said she was no longer providing those printouts at the terminal managers request, so I would have to check with my supervisor next week. I am about to start another year of employment with First Student Savannah, Chatham County. Where the fun and confusion never stops. The good news is I did get a raise this year, however… all the good it is gonna do me if the union wins the vote in 2 weeks.
