Summer is ending

I got the call on Thursday that confirmed for me that summer is almost over. Back to school meeting for the bus company. I only just got Ashley back home 2 weeks ago, and it has been too hot to spend any time at the ocean, but summer is definitely drawing to a close. Ashley can’t wait to get back to school. She has her first day of school outfit picked out, her backpack is packed and ready and her brand new school shoes are in her closet waiting to be worn for the first time.

I, on the other hand, am not nearly as excited. I still have work to do around this house, I still have doors I need to finish and touch up, and my bedroom still needs paint at the very least. I had such high hopes and plans for this house during the summer. Between Paul working insane hours, and budget issues we just did not get nearly as much work done as I had hoped. I still don’t have the router and table Paul needs to start making the trim for the house. Once Paul has started making the trim then I have to start sanding and finishing the trim for installation, so it’s gonna take a while before we get to see that hanging on the walls. Over the next few months I do hope to start replacing windows, and working on the trim.

Back to school time starts a very busy and at time crazy time for the year. This back to school time is no different, I have 4 more weeks until my parents come to visit, then Ashley’s birthday (which we are still working out the details for), after that we start decorating for Halloween, then planning for Thanksgiving, and Christmas. This year we have the added fun of making travel plans for both Ashley and Daniel for the holidays. I was supposed to be going back to school this semester too, but when I think about all the things I still need to do around the house I’m starting to think it is a good thing I can’t start school until the spring.
